Nouwen said that the reason God made us was to give ourselves to others and if we dont use ourselves for this purpose we will feel unfulfilled.

Makes sense that a community who is giving themselves and fulfilling their sole purpose has less heart disease.

I love this book. since it's labeled #1, i hope to see a lot more...

Count your age with friends but not with years. Good luck to you!!

How wonderful! Of course we know that loving friends and family reduce stress - which is a great enemy to heart health. But I found your point on being part of one big community that was like an extended family to be very insightful. So much of our health starts in our head, and if we are happy and satisfied there, surely our bodies will follow. Great review and it makes we want to read the book now.
